I really like this slow-draft thing you guys got goin'. Something to consider in my future years of FBB.

This year, I'm already committed to a league, and I'm only doing 1 for my first year. However, if, next year, I want to add a league, and an opening comes here....Try it and you'll love it! It beats the crap out of a live draft.

I agree. First time I've participated in a slow draft and its been more fun than a usual (for me) 90 seconds per pick draft. Thanks goes to Nick for making this happen and to all the managers here for being close to wrapping our draft up so much sooner than anticipated!!! Only 1 or 2 picks left to go.
29.6 Marc Rzepczynski

HayPay submitted his pick via phone: 29.7 Michael Wuertz
Vada Pinson Fan is now on the clock.
29.8 Casey Blake Not too bad for this late in the draft.

Thanks Jerry. I agree that everyone has done a great job of paying attention throughout the draft. We have had very few skips and managers have been making their picks within the first couple hours of their time slot. Because of that diligence we are going to finish the draft at least 10 days before Opening Day, which is great. I fully expected we would have to reduce the timer from 10 hours to 8 hours and eventually 6 hours per pick in order to finish the draft on time. But we finished early even without reducing the timer at all. Fantastic.
Judging by everyone's attention during the draft I am very confident everyone will pay attention to their teams all season long, unlike many leagues where owners neglect their teams as soon as they realize they aren't going to win. I have no doubt all owners will closely manage their teams throughout the year even if they fall out of contention for the 2010 championship because they have the added incentive of improving their team for next season and years to come.
I think the draft has been a great way to get to know each of you better. I am enthusiastic about this bunch of guys because I really think this is going to be a fun, competitive, active league.
Now that the draft is nearly over it is time to make whatever adjustments you feel might be necessary to balance your team, fill some holes or make some swaps.
The fight begins on April 4th!
Good luck -- you are going to need it!
