Heisey, Frazier, and Cozart heading for another year in the minors...could have seen this coming.

Nice to get looks at these guys, they'll likely be back to making us drool over their potential in a few weeks.

The mighty Juan Francisco is still standing...

Thanks guys. Just curious why we wouldn't find a trade for him if he is just "average", they must like something about him.

I think that in a year or two, one of these guys - Frazier, Dorn, Valaika, Cumberland, Stubbs - will be ready to replace Dunn. They won't hit as many home runs as Dunn, but they should have similar OPS. - 757690, July 22, 2008

Alonso will be playing 1B for the REDS and batting 4th one year from today. - Kingspoint, July 9, 2009

My guess is they'll all be up in the Bigs at some point this year. Heisey and Frazier are likely to be up before the All-Star Break.

I think all three need some sustained success in AAA. Sending them down was the right thing for the players and the team's future, even though they are all probably better now than guys like Cairo, Burke and Miles who are still around.

Going to be real upset when Miles makes it over Cairo or Sutton who are both way more deserving. I don't want to here back of the baseball card argument from management either. He has had 1 ok season in the last 3 or 4 years... The bench is going to be weak as is. All things being equal why not take the switch hitter with power and OBP skills and controlibillity vs the RH hitter with none of the above...

Agree. Sutton should get the job or they should keep another OF. Heck I'd rather keep Castillo.

Dodgers are shopping shortstop prospect (or former prospect) Chin-Lung Hu.

    Dodgers shopping Hu

Any interest, or is he behind Cozart at this point?

Seems like the Dodgers are shopping DeJesus as well. I really like this kid. Don't know if he is better than Cozart, but I'd make a call if I'm Jocketty.

DeJesus might be ready by 2012. But to answer your question, DeJesus is no longer considered the Dodgers' shortstop of the future. He probably projects as a utility guy -- or perhaps trade bait.
