Bottom of the 4th. Reds had their chance in the 4th with two guys on, but Fransicso hit into a 3-6 inning ending DP. Tough luck.
3-0 Giants still.

Disappointing that no mods were able to start the thread.
Why do we need mods to start the game thread anyway?
Two games in a row now without a Game Thread.
Huh? Mods have to start game threads here? I can get in to start one, I see no where in the rules where anyone can't start a GT (especially once the game starts), and I see that many who aren't mods have started GTs recently.

I see.The mods have to approve it. I tried to start one, but it never got approved.

The intent in having a mod approve it was so that we only had one GT going. We were having a problem, on game day, of having numerous posters starting GTs, and we'd end up with multiple going for the same game. Very confusing and unnecessary.
While we all realize mods have lives outside of RZ, and rightfully so, the system does need to be "tweaked" somehow IMO to insure we're able to get a daily GT started (posted).

You know...i know it's ST and all that....but this team is not even hitting in AZ....IF you cannot hit in AZ....where numbers get inflated....then this team has more problems hitting than I imagined.
Hmm... maybe a system where someone volunteers to do GTs for the next 3 games or so and then a GT will only be posted if the 1st volunteer is the one who starts it?

I think we can blame this weekend on March Madness.
The Mods have been more reliable than expected considering they all volunteer. I doubt this will be an issue once the season starts.

Left-hander Travis Wood was making his first start and fourth appearance for the Reds, who made him their minor league pitcher of the year in 2009. He gave up three runs -- two earned -- in three innings, walking two and striking out four.
"I'd like to have had a better outing," Wood said. "You are going to get hit. It is going to happen. You have to keep your head on straight. I try not to think about making the team. That adds pressure to what's already there. I just go out and pitch."
Wood is competing for the fifth starter's spot with right-hander Mike Leake, the team's first-round draft pick and a former star at nearby Arizona State. Leake gave up three earned runs on seven hits in three innings against the Giants.Code:CINCINNATI (0) AT SAN FRANCISCO (6) CINCINNATI AB R H BI SAN FRANCISCO AB R H BI A Miles 2B 2 0 1 0 A Torres CF 2 1 1 0 M Cairo PH-2B 2 0 0 0 D Ford CF 1 0 0 0 C Burke CF 2 0 1 0 E Renteria SS 3 1 1 1 L Nix CF 2 0 0 0 B Crawford SS 2 1 1 0 J Votto 1B 1 0 1 0 M DeRosa 3B 3 1 1 0 D Dorn 1B 2 0 0 0 E Whiteside C 2 0 1 2 J Gomes RF 2 0 0 0 A Huff 1B 2 1 1 2 W Balentien RF 1 0 0 0 A Hinshaw P 0 0 0 0 J Francisco 3B 2 0 0 0 E Velez PH 1 0 0 0 T Frazier 3B 2 0 0 0 F Romero P 0 0 0 0 R Hernandez C 2 0 0 0 F Peguero RF 0 0 0 0 W Castillo C 1 0 0 0 B Molina C 3 0 1 0 L Ondrusek P 0 0 0 0 R Rohlinger PR-3B 1 1 0 0 C Heisey LF 1 0 0 0 J Uribe 2B 2 0 1 0 L Terrero LF 1 0 0 0 M Downs PR-2B 1 0 1 0 P Janish SS 2 0 1 0 J Bowker LF 4 0 2 1 Z Cozart SS 1 0 0 0 J Guzman LF 0 0 0 0 T Wood P 1 0 0 0 N Schierholtz RF 4 0 0 0 M Leake P 1 0 0 0 S Romo P 0 0 0 0 B Yarbrough C 1 0 0 0 S Casilla P 0 0 0 0 T Wellemeyer P 2 0 0 0 T Ishikawa 1B 2 0 0 0 TOTALS 29 0 4 0 TOTALS 35 6 11 6 CINCINNATI 000 000 000 -- 0 SAN FRANCISCO 300 012 00x -- 6 E--A Miles. Wood & Leake improved their chances of making the team today. unfortunately for them that team is the Louisville Bats.
