    Jeremy Sowers placed on waivers

    http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/0...medium=twitter

Indians pitcher Jeremy Sowers has been placed on waivers, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Rosenthal says the lefty is a candidate to be released.
This is the Cal Ripkin Jr. of typos.

If you ask me to join your fantasy baseball league and I select Legolas in the first round, don't be angry at me. It's not my fault I've read up on the players and you haven't.

Wait, so you can't be a successful major league pitcher by striking out 4 guys per 9? Who would've thunk it?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

So, while i'm glad the Reds didn't sign him, I'm still ticked they punted by drafting him in the first place.

Drafting can be so uncertain. Sowers was the Indians 1st round choice (6th overall) in 2004, after never signing with the Reds after they drafted him in the 1st round of the 2001 draft.

Baseball America had him rated as highly as the Indians #2 propsect in their 2006 prospect guide....

Yeah. You gotta roll the dice in order to win anything at all.

Amen. Even though they haven't righted the ship just yet, we're a long way from that sort of thing.
How do we know he's not Mel Torme?

This is the main reason I wanted no part of Mike Minor in the draft last year

This guy? I wouldn't mind having him. At worst, he's a good trading chip.
