"If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

    Dangit.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

I'm both surprised and impressed at the same time. It's the 9th inning of a tie game, and teh Dusty has brought in the team's best bullpen arm. Kudos to teh Dusty for a good move. Even if Cordero struggles, this is still the right move to make.

I'm guessing those "dead soldiers" are just empty beer cans.

I think its more to get Cordero work than anything. If this game were in June I think Masset would have been brought in.

Cordero worked last night to get work. If this game was a blow out, he'd be sitting in the bullpen right now.

    Easy inning for Cordero.

Dusty puts Cordero in a tie game at home in the 9th quite often.

    Nice 1-2-3 from Cordero.

Just got home, right in time for extras...well, hopefully not. :O)
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG
