I hate to say this, but Votto's looked VERY bad tonight.

*wonders if you poke Silva with a stick if he pops like a balloon* :

Sir_Charles: I agree. He's looked a little lost at the plate but since he's been having a one good day, one bad day, sort of week, I fully expect him to go crazy hitting tomorrow.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

    Cincinnati 6th Inning Summary

    - D. Stubbs grounded out to third
    - O. Cabrera popped out to shallow center
    - J. Votto struck out swinging
    - End of Inning (0 Runs, 0 Hits, 0 Errors)

    Cubs 3 Reds 1 after 6 complete

    Pitches-strikes - C Silva 71-48

Obviously Silva inadvertently received the mudded balls by mistake

Thom mentioned during lineups he wasn't feeling well.

That makes sense. He hasn't looked right at all. Almost like a lack of effort & hustle. Hope he feels better soon.

    Re: 4/9/10- Reds vs. Cubs

I think the weather is helping a little bit with the hit batters. The pitchers aren't getting the balls gripped very well so they're a little wild tonight. That's my opinion anyway.

I hope Joey feels better. That has to suck to not feel well and be playing baseball in the cold weather tonight. (BTW-I volunteer to go downtown and take care of him after the game. : )
