Dickerson, Francisco, Nix. The Reds have lots of lefty options beyond Votto and Bruce, they just don't have any good lefty options beyond Votto and Bruce. The team needed a strategic pick-up to be the platoon LF. Could use one in the IF as well. Dickerson is decent as a platoon guy at a defense first spot like CF but hasn't got the goods for a corner. Francisco is still a good prospect, but like many others isn't ready yet. Nix is just pointless.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

One point which I don't think has been made. The loss today puts added pressure on Leake tomorrow in his big league debut. If he loses the team is 2-4 to start the season. lets hope the offense gets going early & often on Sunday to help ease the pressure on Leake.

Missed the game today because I had to be out of town. I couldn't even get in on the radio where I was, but reading the game thread was helpful. Harang did alright, but this team has to score more runs, something that hasn't happened in a couple of years (or more). Staying pat or using old parts to fix an offensive problem won't get it. A Nix-Gomes-Dickerson platoon is simply not going to do the job. A big bat was needed and no moves were made. I think anytime your starter holds the opposition to three runs or less, you should win. Couple that this the non-production from Bruce (who I am begining to believe never will come around) makes this team pretty anemic.

Asking for a win tomorrow is a long shot with Leake pitching, but I hope we can win the series.

Anyone think the key to more victories is move Harang out of the No. 1 starting position so he can face a more promising result?
