A four game split with a solid Marlins team on the road...AND our pitching was very sub-par. I'll take the split and walk away happy. Our hitting & pitching will improve.

btw...for those interested, it's 9-1 Marlins in the bottom of the 8th. Masset taking over for Ondrusek (who pitched well). More good news...Chris Dickerson is 2 for 3 with 2 sb's.

14 K's tonight. This is certainly frustrating. Votto and Bruce are not having fun at the plate.

It's just that kind of night. Masset k's the first batter he faces...but it's a wild pitch and he's safe at first. :O) Oh well, I'm out. Gotta get up super early tomorrow. We'll get 'em next time.

Just a thought. This organization has spent the last three years rounding up pitching and defense and for the most part have been successful. They've ignored offensive production. Thinking Jay Bruce was the next Ken Griffey Jr and it was OK to not have an offensive minded centerfielder and leftfielder, no real MLB hitters have been acquired outside of Scott Rolen, so this is what you get. If the pitching holds up, they've got a chance in any game they play. If it doesn't, it's pretty much lights out.

Heading to the top of the 9th chance, it's 10-1 bad guys. I don't think it's in the cards to win tonight (Duh).

At least the Reds didn't get beaten by the Astros today.

The Reds must have a favorite barber in Miami. I don't know what to call the new doos that Hernandez and Gomes got.

So true. Someone had to lose to them first and I'm glad it wasn't the Reds.

We may not see that too many more times. But my favorite moment of the game was the single Ramon got on the ball he hit to the wall. Man, that dude is slooooooooooooow.

Quoted for truth. THAT is something I was truly afraid of happening later this month! I never want the Reds to be any team's first win of the year after several weeks, LOL

Props to anyone who made it through the game last night. I'm going out of town this weekend so I thought it would be better for me to pack and get ready for that trip than to watch my team get pummeled in last night's game. Time to kick some behind in Pittsburgh!
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”
