Matt Maloney and Juan Carlos Sulbaran placed on DL with blister problems

    From Jamie Ramsey's blog:

The blister bug is alive in the Reds minor leagues...Yesterday, Louisville's Matt Maloney was put on the DL with a blister on his left middle finger. Today, Dayton's J.C. Sulbaran has been put on the disabled list with a blister on his right middle finger.

Sulbaran is returning from the DL tomorrow...Meanwhile, now Brian Pearl is injured.
Starting pitcher Brian Pearl had his sore elbow examined Monday and, as game time neared, there had been no word passed to manager Todd Benzinger on the right-hander’s status.

Pearl was pulled from Friday night’s start complaining of tightness and a burning in his elbow.

He will miss his next start, Benzinger confirmed, but with J.C. Sulbaran coming off the seven-day disabled list (finger blister) to start Wednesday at Lake County, rotation disruption is minimized.

That sounds an awful lot like a ligament tear.

My question is was his switch to starter something they thought permanent or more of get him some innings ala Carlos Fisher, Sean Watson, Jerry Gil?

It also sounds like Duhhhsty and Grif Sr. have been spending some quality time together discussing the lesser parts of hitting... I don't know if hearing your Low A ball hitting coach say that a .289 OBP isn't all that bad from a 1 - 2 hitter isn't a bad thing... :shudder:
