    Die Hard Fans Index

The Reds do not fare well at all in this index. Tied with the Rockies, Rangers, and Diamondbacks. They are only ahead of the Braves, Mariners, and Blue Jays.

    Re: Die Hard Fans Index

It is a really flawed study in a number of ways. It does not take local population into account. The Yankees have almost 20 million people within 1 hour of their ballpark. That is something that can't be discounted. It also discounts the "hip" aspect of attendance. For example, the Columbus Clippers have huge attendance numbers in their new ballpark, but they also have the "hip" tag right now. The stadium is filled with people who don't care a lick about baseball but instead treat the park like the world's largest patio bar. At some point, they will realize that they are paying $8.00 for a Miller Lite and move on to the next hip place to go. I would say that the Cubs/Red Sox/Yanks benefit greatly from this.
