5-3-10 Home cookin' Reds v Mets

    Lineup courtesy of Fay:

The Reds are going with a heavily right-handed lineup agianst Oliver Perez and the Mets tonight:

    Drew Stubbs 8
    Brandon Phillips 4
    Joey Votto 3
    Scott Rolen 5
    Jonny Gomes 7
    Orlando Cabrera 6
    Chris Heisey 9
    Ramon Hernandez 2
    Mike Leake 1

This, of course, will be Heisey big league debut. Oddly, he hit left-handers much better than right-handers at Louisville before his callup. Pretty small sample size, though.
94 and winning the division and the NLCS but falling in the WS to Toronto in 6

    94 Reds / 86 Cards / 85 Pirates / 76 Cubs / 72 Brewers

He doesn't. Bad proofreading again by the media

Entire Season AVG G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS OBP SLG OPS
    vs Left .188 16 2 3 0 0 1 1 3 5 1 0 .316 .375 .691
    vs Right .254 63 4 16 3 0 3 12 4 18 1 0 .304 .444 .749
I thought league average bullpen arms looked better than this

    Seriously. Fay is terrible.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

I have zero problem with Bruce sitting against a tough lefty (tough against lefties that is), and I'm the biggest Dusty hater around.

You almost don't want to see that, as it will continue to self-justify his overswinging ways.

It's like your power forward hitting his 1st 3 pointer of the game, when he's a 20% career shooter. Get down low where your bread and butter are, and quit trying to be someone you're not.
