Fairel's six innings of four-hit, two-run ball were not good enough. Lynchburg has one hit (Puckett) through seven.

It appears that Lance Janke, who started the season in the Lynchburg rotation, has been reassigned to the bullpen.

Janke threw three hitless innings of relief and the Hillcats pulled it out with three in the bottom of the ninth. Justin Reed hit a 2-run homer and . . . well, here's the play-by-play:

    Lynchburg Bottom 9th

    * Miguel Rojas reaches on fielding error by center fielder Donnie Webb.
    * Justin Reed homers (2) on a fly ball to right field. Miguel Rojas scores.
    * Josh Fellhauer flies out to center fielder Donnie Webb.
    * Pitcher Change: David Roberts replaces Kelvin De La Cruz.
    * Cody Puckett hit by pitch.
    * Neftali Soto singles on a ground ball to center fielder Donnie Webb. Cody Puckett to 2nd.
    * Carlos Mendez grounds out, pitcher David Roberts to first baseman Nate Recknagel. Cody Puckett to 3rd. Neftali Soto to 2nd.
    * David Roberts intentionally walks Devin Mesoraco.
    * Alex Buchholz singles on a line drive to center fielder Donnie Webb. Cody Puckett scores. Neftali Soto to 3rd. Devin Mesoraco to 2nd.

The Hillcats are kind of like the Reds. Well, a lot like. Last night, they came from behind and pulled it out on a walkoff HR by Soto.
