    Update on Jared Burton

    From John Fay's blog:

Here’s a little good news on the pitching front: Jared Burton is in Goodyear, Ariz., throwing again.

Burton has been on the disabled list all year because of a lack of strength. He went through a battery of tests. But nothing turned up.

I'm glad he seems to be doing better. I was wondering what had happened with all those tests they were running on him.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

If Burton could get things together this year and pitch well it would be huge.

Some of the young guys the Reds keep throwing out there aren't getting the job done.If Jared has any success I'd look for him to replace Carlos Fisher very soon.Fisher has been terrible.

There was a lot of turnover in that rotation.

Big Klu and BCubb with two really funny lines. IIRC, Liz sent Burton to the minors and then took him back. Maybe there is another run in Jared.

Elizabeth Taylor was married to Eddie Fisher and dumped him for Richard Burton.

Didn't she bring Burton back on short rest for another appearance?

She used Bruton on back to back appearances. She used him as the long man out of the pen the first time then in short relief the next time out.

Also read yesterday (rotoworld?) that Bill Bray threw a simulated game yesterday and felt good. Reds are expecting him back in 6-8 weeks.

    Re: Update on Jared Burton

Anyone know what types of tests they ran on Burton? I had thought I heard he had thyroid disease (like Jose Reyes) but I might have heard it wrong.

Hope he gets back to full strength soon. I think I'd take Burton at full strength over Lincoln
