    Re: 5-8-10 Cubs at Reds

    Reds 6th:

Gomes Ks swinging at a breaking ball in the dirt.
Bruce Ks swinging at a high 90 mph fastabll.
Stubbs lines the 1st pitch just over Fukudone's glove for a double.
    Hanigan is intentionally walked.
Dusty leaves Harang in (I disagree...)
On the 2nd pitch, Stubbs steals third. Harang Ks looking on a weak swing at a 78 mph breaking ball.

Gorzelanny at 100 pitches. He has struck out 9 Reds.

    Reds up 3-1.

This team cannot bust one out and just beat someone up.....I mean even the worst teams have blowout wins.

Dusty won one? I can buy the other ones, but I definitely don't remember Baker winning one.

To be fair we had a game or two that would have been like that, only for the bullpen to give the big lead up.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Johnson did, as did Dusty. That's your five.

    Tommy Helms
    Pete Rose
    Bob Boone
    Davey Johnson
    Dusty Baker
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Tough luck there with that rookie kid getting a hit. Hopefully Harang can get the last out here and make this a GREAT outing tonight.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”
