How do you watch a 1-2 90 mph fastball down the middle?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Stubbs strikes out. The kid is trying to force himself out of the slump. It's in his head and he's overthinking IMO.

But regardless, 2-0 Reds after 1
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)

OK, I've gotta admit something. As the resident Joey Votto fangirl here, I totally didn't realize how well he was hitting lately. I knew he was doing pretty well but he's been doing better than I thought. Thanks Joey!

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

WOW! What a strong throw by Bruce. He's making a case for the GG.

Jay Bruce just made one of the best plays I've ever seen a right fielder make. Aramis Ramirez shot to Jay's left near the line, Bruce fields on the run, and GUNS it from not so shallow right field to the plate and easily nails Marlon Byrd.

    Just awesome.

It's funny he has only 2 assists this year....he's probably held 7-8 guys to singles that should have been doubles....nothing in the stats for that.
