Shallow pop to right. Everybody stays put. Up to Cabrera.

99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner

Crud. Ohlendorf houdini. We've got to take advantage of all these free passes.

    Reds 4th:

Rolen pops out to Iwanura in short right.
Bruce hits a broken bat single to right.
Nix hits a double down the leftfield line, Bruce waved home, scores in a close play, and Nix goes to third on the missed throw.
    Stubbs works the walk.
    Hanigan walks on 4 straight.
Arroyo pops out to very shallow right, runners hold.
Cabrerra bounces out to short on the first pitch.

    Ohlendorf at 84 pitches.

    Reds 1, Pirates 0.

Ohlendorf weasels his way out of trouble like a pretty girl pulled over by the cops.

Cabrera ruined the scoring threat and now the perfect game.

"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Yeah, I just heard Chris say that. I understand yesterday's being a hit but that one was pretty obviously an error.

    Pirates 4th:

    Iwamura grounds out to Phillips.
Laroche gets on due to a dropped liner by Cabrerra (scored a hit?!?) (Perfect game and no-no gone...)
    McCutchen walks on 4 pitches.
Jones flies out to fairly deep center.
Doumit pops out to Rolen in foul territory.

Arroyo at 58 pitches after 4 innings.

    Reds 1, Pirates 0.

No, don't be silly. Bob Boone was responsible for those.
