The only way that sentence makes sense is if you're saying that Janish is no where nearly as bad a hitter as Cabrera is. We know Cabrera is a .300 OBP hitter, and that's what he'll end up at when October 1st gets here.
But, you, nor the REDS, nor I, nor Paul Janish, nor anyone knows what Janish will be come October 1st, because he has no history. He has never had a full-time job in the Majors in order for him to go through a season seeing the same pitcher repeatedly....7, 8, 9 times on the season so he can have a memory bank of experience on everyone he faces. There's only one way to get that information...and that's for Janish to play full-time....or at the very least part-time. He doesn't even play part-time.
What we do know is that Janish is 3 or 4 times the better fielder. In fact, they're on opposite ends of the spectrum defensively.
