    Motels in Cincy

I'm coming up for the Cardinals series this weekend and need a room. I plan on going to Belterra Casino Saturday before the game so any advice on that would be great as well. I'd prefer the motel to be closer to Cincy if possible, I just need something cheap, not real nice, just somewhere where I wont get robbed and can sleep comfortably. Thanks for the help.

RBA recommends the Travel Lodge in Newport.

I've been to Cincy about 20 times in the last decade for Reds game, and if you don't mind a ten minute drive, the hilton garden in florence is nice.

I came into this thread specifically to make this same joking suggestion. I work at a bar in Newport and Newport police officers do details there. I've heard some great stories about the Travel Lodge.

I recommend the Hyatt Place in Florence, KY. I got tired of paying too much for rooms in downtown Cincy. There really isn't anything to do downtown anyway, so you might as well stay in a nice, clean area just a short drive from the ballpark.

I've stayed at the Hyatt for the last three years and haven't had any complaints. Most recent visit was last weekend for the Cubs series.

Second this. Rooms are huge. The place is new.

I've had really good luck in the downtown area and riverfront area using priceline. Almost always find something good in the 4 to 70 buck range.
I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.

Just get a room out in Kentucky. Chip will serve as your personal driver for the length of your stay.

    Re: Motels in Cincy

I've used Hotwire to get rooms for Bengals and Reds games and Cincinnati Oktoberfest. I actually got cheaper rates for 3-4 star hotels in Downtown Cincinnati, usually the Hyatt Regency or the Millennium, sometimes the Holiday Inn Covington, than the rates at the dreaded Travellodge Newport. So I would definitely recommend Hotwire or Priceline and choosing "3 stars and above" as your search criteria.

We stay at Embassy Suites across the river. It may at first glance appear a little pricey but if you factor in all the alcohol we drink during the two hour "Happy Hour" and the free Continental Breakfast you get in the morning it balances out.
