Excellent outing by Bailey. This type of command he showed today is what I've been hoping to see out of his development.

A sweep was paramount, and we got it. Now it's time to win two of three this weekend. I might have to get down to the park on Friday night if the weather isn't lousy.

Interestingly...of those 35...only 1 player (Newcombe) threw as many strikes as Homer. 73 out of 90.....and Newcombe gave up two runs. Absurd, remarkable, and TOTALLY unexpected!

Indeed. I swear I put the <= thing in there.

    Let's try again.

Here's an even more impressive comparison. Throwing 90 or fewer pitches in 9 innings (or more) with over 70 strikes. Six dudes have done it.

    Seven now!

Three of the six pitchers threw for the Reds at some point (Newcombe, Belcher & Smiley) and one (Bosio) coached for us in the minors.

    Of Homer's 90 pitches, 78 were fastballs.

It was like one of his minor league outings.

Maybe my handle isn't useless after all. What an outing by Homer.

4 games over .500. I really, really don't believe it.

I saw Greg Maddux dual Curt Shilling once. They both threw complete games under 100 pitches. Maddux only through 88 pitches.

one of best games I have ever attended.

Wow great game by Homer, way to make me eat my words (should have known not to agree with FCB).
