Thurs May 13 Minor League updates

    Bats lozing 6-1 in the 9th. FRazier 1 for 3 with a HR. Alonso 1 for 4. Corky 3 for 3.

Travis Wood 5.33 IP, 8H, 4BB, 2K, 6ER, 3 HR. ERA now at 5.10. Should have sold high on this guy.

Agreed on selling high, although I'll caution that while he's certainly not as good as he looked last year, he's not as bad as a 5.10 ERA in AAA either. I look for him to be a fringy #5 starter in the bigs, (or in other words, a left-handed, slightly better Micah Owings,) which is more than I can say for LeCure.

Too bad old Corky isn't about 10 years younger. He's been mashing the International League all season (.318/.378/.576/.954 coming into tonight).

It sounds like Boxberger could be headed to Double-A Carolina sometime soon. From C. Trent's website:

Also in Lynchburg, pitcher Brad Boxberger, a first-round supplemental pick last season, is 3-2 with a 2.20 ERA in six starts. He starts again tonight, and Reynolds said he's likely next in line for a call-up to the next level.

It's hard to say which Travis Wood is the real one. I;ve watched him pitch twice now and both times he only flashes what he did regularly last year. Hopefully Power can get him back on track.

Haven't seen this anywhere else but looks like Alonso was promoted to Triple-A today.
