I was a fan but haven't seen it in years. Anyhow, the fact that it tied Gunsmoke for longest running primetime drama is proof that I'm seriously loosing track of time.

Never seen it.
Crazy eh?
Which one?
It's actually being replaced by a new L&O spinoff, L&O LA.
The ones between 1995-2001...was probably, to me...the peak and height of that show.
They moved it around too much in the last few years. I wonder if they will all die in a plane crash or get lost on an island somewhere during the final episode.
Yes, I wonder about that too.Which one?

I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou
Okay. As long as they keep SVU around. The original.

I think SVU is the worst of all 3. They overdo it with the tough guy cop thing....both of the main characters. Do not get the appeal of that one too much.
I love SVU, but also loved the original Law & Order too (ironically enough it was after I got hooked on SVU that I started watching L&O).
In any event, Law & Order started getting dull for me after Jesse Martin left (Detective Ed Green) a few years ago. That, the replacing him with Anthony Anderson and Assistant D.A. Jack McCoy becoming the DA all kind of killed the joy I had in watching the show.
Even despite that, I'd much rather watch that than this new L&O LA. That just sounds silly and I'm not sure fans of the franchise will be able to buy into it. Trial by Jury was an utter failure and I don't see much reason this won't be.
I can handle their cancelling the show, though I'd liked to have seen them go one more season, but I'll survive.

I once TiVo'd the Law and Order re-runs on TNT in an attempt to catch up on one's that I missed. After 5 days, it had 27 episodes saved. They should change TNT's name to L&O. It's on all the time. lol
And yeah, Jerry Orbach was by far the best thing ever on that series. Great character, even better actor.
