If I need a bat off the bench I'm calling Bonds, Barry Bonds.
    Seriously...

If this is a joke... "LOL" I guess.

    Bonds?? Really!?!

Time to look to the future, not the past. Alonso is 4 for 5 with 6 RBI's tonight.

He'll bring good value in a trade.

From age 28-31 Burrell had four years with an OPS+ between 122-128.
At age 32 he fell off a cliff & was just released at age 33.

I believe this is the huge downside risk to the deal the Cards gave Holliday.
I also believe it is why the Howard deal is indefensible from the Phillie's standpoint as Howard's new deal won't even start until 2012.

Baseball is littered with guys who suddenly lose it in their early 30s.

Pass on Burrell. Gomes is a better player at this point.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

Exactly. Lackluster AA numbers didn't get him promoted.

Either he fetches a nice piece via trade, or he turns himself into the Reds 2010, 2011 LF.

Both options are excellent in my book.
