We gotta find a picture of Bates scoring the winning run in Game 2. (Maybe a shot of Glenn Braggs picking him up like a little kid.)

A picture of Bates racing the cheetah would be good, too.

My body of work speaks for itself!

I have posted plenty of pics with Davey's number showing. I just wanted to get a shot of "Young Davey" in there.

    Very true.

What an interesting little career he had. Cups of coffee for two different teams. Made The Reds playoff roster, scored a walkoff run in a World Series game, then never surfaced anywhere ever again.

Plus he played for the Cowboys, right?

Smokey Burgess is probably most deserving, but are there any pictures with his unifrom number?

Got that right! Loved watching Davey play shortstop - especially his one-bouncers to first.

On a side note both the Astros and Pirates have more retired numbers than the Reds. Other teams have more too, but those two seem to stand out to me.

Didn't the Reds go to "retiring jerseys" instead of numbers?

Interesting, hopefully we'll see it tonight. Darrell Chaney is the first guy I thought of. If I have it right SS Billy Myers wore number 12 in 39 and 40 and Gene Freese in 61.

These pictures made this thread even more fun and the topic alone is pretty fun to begin with.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Darrel Chaney did. You gotta have him.

Great thread! I really enjoy this one. You had some great pictures of Concepcion and Rose.
