Couldn't disagree more. Unless he's injured or getting shelled, the starter needs to bat for himself in the bottom of the 4th.

I don't think that thought would have crossed Dusty's mind. He's old school.

I am watching the game, and parra was absolutely gassed. Phillips swung at a pitch at his ankles, unfortunately. McGehee did make a nice play, but I would have liked to see Phillips wait for a ball to drive.

And there is no way that Baker should have pinch hit for Bailey in the 4th. That would have been insane.

Good inning for Homer. Seems to be settling in. If he has an easy 6th, I'd let him start the 7th.

Homer has been pretty stout since the first inning. Nice to see him putting in some efficient innings.

Next inning is an early season litmus test for Homer. Should be his last inning...he faces 2/3/4 in the order.
If he gets through that....he should be done for the day.

The more I think about it, the more I don't know that I agree with myself. I was really in the moment of trying to score the tying run with one out and runners at 2nd and 3rd......Just mindless rable of a possible strategy. Would have been nice to see a risk though.
