Others standing in line for blame include:

The schedule makers for placing a day game after a night game twice in one week and forcing the manager to recognize that some guys need a rest.

The Braves for lulling the Reds into complicity so early in the game, very Doug Henning guys.

Mike Leake for not being in the league longer, a guy with more innings under his belt would go longer than 6.

Mike Lincoln for not doing what every reliever did in the 70's

And Mrs. Cairo for having the audacity to only have a scrub for a son.

After yesterday's game, if I was a member of the Reds and heard that Jocketty was considering "pulling the trigger," I would be ducking and putting on some kevlar.

What is dangerous and sits in a tree?
The Sox traded Bullfrog the only player they've got for Shottenhoffen. Four-eyes Shottenhoffen a utility infielder. They've got a whole team of utility infielders.

Not sure that he would actually need to pull the trigger after yesterday.

Alright, as good of a thread as any for this question....

If the Blue Jays fall out of it--and I know this player has been discussed here before signing his contract--what would it take to bring Vernon Wells to Cincinnati and would that make sense for us?

    Nothing. That contract is insane.

Any deal involving us acquiring Vernon Wells would make no sense.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."
