Zebulon, NC --- The Cincinnati Reds have made one player move impacting their Double-A affiliate Carolina Mudcats prior to tonight's series opener at Chattanooga.

RHP Scott Carroll has been promoted from High-a Lynchburg to the Mudcats. Carroll will start the middle game of the series against the Lookouts on Sunday afternoon.

Carolina had a roster spot available after RHP Daryl Thompson was placed on the disabled list on May 17th. The Mudcats are at the Southern League limit of 24 players.

ADD: RHP Carroll, Scott (From Lynchburg)

Walt was just here. The idea to rest Frazier a bit may have come from him.

Personally, though I agree that Frazier need to play and get ABs if he's going to get out of his funk, sometimes a bit of time off helps. Valaika attributed his turn around last year to the time off he had to think about things. And to grow up a little.

Not that Frazier should sit for two months. (Or break his hand)

I think Frazier is as much of a prospect now as Drew Sutton was a couple years ago.

I agree. I never saw him as anything more than a 4th Outfielder, but I think he'll be better than Sutton. He'll hit well and be a very good 4th Outfielder for the REDS, but he's just not good enough to break into the Bruce/Stubbs/Heisey Outfield. Others may, but Frazier won't.
