It seems like the Reds lose a bunch of baserunners. That might not be the case, but it certainly seems that way.

I would have preferred a bases clearing gapper, but Mr. sacrifice fly gets the Reds on the board.

Don't know if I agree with Thom's "why not" philosophy of sending Hanigan with 2 outs. You have a pitcher struggling with his control and he just gave up a base hit to a guy who can almost make Aaron Harang look good at the plate, with Phillips on deck. I like the aggression in a sense, but why run yourself out of the inning?:thumbdown

But, then there's the "karma" of Mark Berry.

Is it me, or does it seem like the REDS have an inordinate number of bad plays where Mark Berry is involved?

BTW, the REDS are DEAD LAST in the NL in getting runner in from 3rd and less than 2 outs. Nice to see them convert here.

3 singles and error and a walk and we get one run.

Big difference between the 3-hole hitter coming up next and the 8-hole hitter. I have to agree they should have been dead certain he was going to make it. But what can you do?

    Nice job, Cabrera, though.

    I just saw the play.

    Hanigan was deadmeat.

Can't believe they sent him on that shallow hit.

It looked like Cairo started to run towards the dugout, though, as he was unsure what to do when the ball dribbled towards the outfield. Not sure if he remembered how to run to first base.

Well, the Reds are probably going to win for sure tonight. They just struck out Roberto Clemente on 3 pitches. Oh wait... that was Ronny Cedeno.

Wonder if that's the first time this year Arroyo's done that.

Ohlendorf has thrown 35 pitches and only 17 of them have been strikes. Hmmm. What should Reds' batters do?

I know not every fastball is straight, but it's still disappointing to see Jay not catching up to low 90 mph fastballs.
