It's very fortunate that Votto's absence is timed to happen during the Pirates and Astros series'. [/silver lining]

Keppinger nearly took him out, and then Pence did take him out.

An actual good swing by Brandon ties it up.

Oh how I am glad Pence plays OF in another teams defense. That was one of the worst routes to a ball I've ever seen.

    WOW!

Gomes triples off the right field wall, Rolen scores.
Bruces flies out to the warning track in left.

    After 1 inning, Reds 2, Astros 1.

Bruce with a nice opposite field poke but Lee grabs it on the track. Good swing by JB vs. the lefty.

Someone need sto tell Sam that Berkman is not the same player he watched as a youngster. Way too much nibbling at the beginning of that AB. Berkman walks.

Feliz Grounds out and Berkman goes to 2nd... 1 out.

    Astros 2nd:

    Berkman walks.
Feliz bounces out slowly to Phillips, Berkman to second.
Manzella chops one toward third, LeCure grabs it and throws him out, Berkman stays at 2nd.
    Quintero walks.
Wandy Rodriguez bounces out to Phillips.

    Reds up 2-1

LeCure at 34 pitches after 2.
