I doubt very much that the Strohs would trade Oswalt within the division. Rumor has it that the Rangers are in the hunt.

And while Harang has not been terrible, unless he turns it around somewhat up to the trading deadline, and we can get a team to bite, he's ours for the remainder of the season IMO.

It would be about the Astros recognizing the need for a complete rebuild and taking on a guy like Harang being the only way they could ask for a package of four or five prospects with Oswalt's deal for this year and next. By virtue of the Reds being able to walk away from both Harang and Arroyo, they would be the perfect team to be able to handle it and they certainly have enough near ready prospects to make an attractive package without depleting the pipeline or including any of the real core guys (Leake, Cueto, Bailey, Volquez, Chapman, Votto and Bruce)

It would even allow them to save a little face with the casual fan by being able to say they got a recognizable name to step in in return for a guy who demanded out. Of course they'd probably flip him and get another young player.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Under that bankructy, the Rangers simply cannot take on the cash. To get Oswalt, they would need to be able to send $31 million dollars of salary back to Houston. That just isn't remotely likely.

We could go back and forth about why things fell apart last year. The important thing to me is that other then a lot of the same names on the back of the jerseys there is nothing that's the same this year compared to last years team. The 2010 Reds look like a team with a ton of confidence,a great attitude, plenty of focus and an overall desire to make every AB,every chance to run the bases and every chance to make a play in the field really count.
