I actually think Membengal was about right with just Heisey, Bailey, Alonso. I just don't see them trading Oswalt for anything less as he's not a half season rental.

Given your location, Pedro, thoughts on what it will take to get Seattle to let go of Lee if they are out of it near the deadline? Do their organizational needs and the Reds' prospects line up?

I really don't follow them at all. I just find them painfully boring. They see to need offense though, particularly at 3B, SS, 1B and DH.

Lee is much cheaper than Oswald salary wise, Verducci was saying that the market for him could be more active and thus drive up the price.

But I bet the M's would take pitching, or offense.. they need offense.

Oh and as far as PDX being a M's town, that's true... but the Giants were around for 20 years before them, and play NL ball so there are lots of Giants fans here, especially guys older than 50.

Frame of reference should be what Philly gave for Lee in 2009. A back end starter in Gonzalez, a catcher who isn't viewed as a long term starter in Marson, a 4A OF in Mayberry and a lower level minor leaguer. The similar Reds package would be Wood, Frazier (though not a catcher), Balentien and Sulbaran.

Oswalt carries a much heftier price tag than Lee did and hasn't proven it in the AL which makes Lee more attractive. I just don't see Oswalt commanding a package that could restock the Astros unless the ate some money or took some back.
