Wow, that's pretty cocky. Dusty thinks these guys can win taking out 3 of their best defenders and pitching a guy who leans on his defense... Not a move I would have made, but hey, that's why I'm not paid to manage a team.

The key against this Paulino kid is patience...most of his bad games he walks a hitter per inning. Let's keep the momentum rolling going into St. Louis.

An 0-7 pitcher on last place team vs. an 4-0 pitcher on a first place team. I would never bet against the Reds, but with those longs odds, I would love to bet on the underdog.

Well, keep things in perspective a bit. Rolen is an excellent defender. But his replacement is Janish. If there's a drop off there...it's pretty small I'd think. Stubbs replacement is Nix who's also an excellent defender.

I actually expected Rolen to be out today. Day game after night game. Pretty routine for him.

Has Heisey played CF since being called up?

Seriously, not sure what Heisey has to do to get more abs. Nothing against Nix but I'd just rather have Heisey in center.

Felipe Paulino: 0-7, 5.08 ERA (82 ERA+), 1.53 WHIP. His ERA was 6.27 last year. Reds should tag this dude.

Or, get shut out. Paulino owned them in his first appearance against them last season. No carts before horses.

Hoping Leake comes up big again.

I said should, not will. Felipe faced us 4 times last year, and the Reds had an .859 OPS against him (139 OPS+). Of course, there's SSS and all that, but this offense is straight raking, and Felipe Paulino isn't all that good. With the stud that is Mike Leake on the mound, I got my broom in hand.

Reds are -200, 'Stros are +185. I may pull the trigger on the 'Stros. I only bet against the Reds in the rarest of circumstances to hedge my happiness, and this may be one of them.

He's given up 2 or less runs in 5 of his last 7 starts.

With an ERA in the low 5's, and a FIP of 3.63 and a xFip of 4.56, he's much better than many are saying.
