Two best NL first basemen in tonight's game. Is Jay Bruce playing for both teams? He is going to be Jay for the Redbirds and Bruce for the Reds. Now that is thinking outside the box.

Our Jay has Supreme Court Justice on his resume. Beat that if you can...

I was wondering if Jon Jay was any relation to the ex-Reds pitcher Joey Jay and came up with some interesting factoids. It turns out that Jon and Joey are not related. However, Joey Jay, according to Wikipedia, was the first Little Leaguer to make it to the Majors. Nice. He finished his career with 99 wins and 999 strikeouts. Ouch! 100 wins and 1,000 K's would sound much better.

Jay Bruce once presided over the Reds' Kangaroo Court. Does that make it a draw? <---not Busch beer!

Molina and Ludwick sit this game out and the redoubtable Aaron Miles is back with them. With the rookie Walters going, tonite should be a return to 1st place.

We couldn't get LaRue out the last time he played. Hope we have better luck tonight.

I'm sure LaRussa is counting on that to continue, but LaRue is not good with wood in his hands.
