Unbelievable!!! Gomes blew that one. That should never happen on such a easy fly-out.

Now 4-0 Cards and with Wainwright pitching that game is pretty much over.

Desmond singles to left. The throw home is way off line and the Nationals lead 3-2.

Did they give Stubbs an error in that play? He did everything right. Gomes has to let Stubbs catch that.
If anything, Stubbs had too good of range on that play.

Del Rosario makes a good stop on the bunt looks to 3rd. No one is there covering 3rd. They throw to first and it looks like Phillips hurt his arm/hand as the runner ran into him.

It was in Gomes' territory and Gomes was in front of it. It should've been his, but he was too worried about colliding with Stubbs.

Yeah, just rewatched and Gomes was camped under it.

What the heck was Stubbs thinking? He was very un-aggressive about throwing the ball to the plate. What were you thinking?

Crappy luck. The throw hits the mound and bounces off to let him score. 4-2

Sac fly makes it 4-2. The throw at first looked good but hits the mound. What a nightmare this inning has been.

Who just got tossed? Brantley's almost impossible to follow this inning. Sheesh. Joe West just threw somebody out...no clue who.

Man... can't catch a break this inning. I think Stubbs would've had him. Joe West to the rescue?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
