Yeah, I know -- he's bats too good to risk a shorter career. But I was just curious.

They were very similar to Alonso's the year he was drafted.

Between Yasmani, Yonder, and Yorman, we could be the Killer Y's in a few years.

Now we just have to draft Yordy Cabrera in Round 2...

Can't complain about them going the signability route.

Even if they end up not signing Grandal, I am happy with the pick.

I like the Grandal selection on a few levels. They weren't deterred by $$$. He is seen to be a quick to the majors guy. It's a position that isn't jammed up, though the traffic is building up.

If Bob is into it, they might be able to get a guy who drops in the 2nd. That would be nice.

They mentioned on MLB that his family defected. Could the Reds be consciously building a reputation as the team for Cubans?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I'm a bit underwhelmed by the scouting report, but I trust the Reds on this one.
