    Baseball Prospectus/Kevin Goldstein http://www.baseballprospectus.com/ar...rticleid=11114
    1. Stetson Allie, RHP, St. Edward HS (OH)

Just priced himself out of the market. If he's throwing bullets like he was the last six weeks of the high school season, he's a top three pick in 2013.

    2. Brett Eibner, OF/RHP, Arkansas

Despite huge offensive numbers, including more than twice as many home runs as teammate Zach Cox, teams like him better as a pitcher, and he wants to keep hitting.

    3. Austin Wilson, OF, Harvard Westlake HS (CA)

Too raw to spend huge money on him, another possible big name in three years in the tools blossom at Stanford.

    4. Brandon Workman, RHP, Texas

In the end, too many teams saw him as a future reliever, as he's primarily as fastball/curve pitcher, and it's not the prettiest delivery in the world.

    5. Yordy Cabrera, SS, Lakeland HS (FL)

The concept of paying seven figures to a high school player who turns 20 in October proved too much. He should be an early name tomorrow.

    6. A.J. Cole, RHP, Oviedo HS (FL)

Once he slid past the 20s, signability became a big issue, as he's going to want first-round money no matter where he's drafted. Miami could benefit from this drop.

    7. Sammy Solis, LHP, San Diego

When the trend went to high-ceiling high school arms, the low-upside, polished college type got pushed to the side. Like Cabrera, he won't be waiting long tomorrow.

    8. Jedd Gyorko, INF, West Virginia

Another easy second-round projection, scouts being unable to confidently project a good defensive home hurt him on day one.

    9. Ryne Stanek, RHP, Blue Valley HS (KS)

Too much, too soon. Scouts didn't trust it in the end, and his secondary pitches failed to impress late. Could end up going to Arkansas.

    10. Jesse Hahn, RHP, Virginia Tech

Just the worst timing of any player in the draft, as he left his post-season start on Sunday after three innings with forearm tightness, and final evaluation of the injury is still up in the air.

I'd love to see the Reds draft one of Allie or Cole and get them signed to a deal.

Re: The Official Second Day Draft Thread - 2010

Its obvious it has to be one player and one player alone:

    Yordy Cabrera

    Yonder
    Yorman
    Yasmani

It's the perfect plan to dominate the second to last letter in the alphabet.

    World Series here we come.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Cincinnati Bengals - None
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Of course that means we'll be playing the Yankees. Maybe we can bring Yimmy Lopez up to be the DH? Imagine that 2-6:

    3B Yordy
    LF Yonder
    CF Yorman
    C Yasmani
    DH Yimmy

Re: The Official Second Day Draft Thread - 2010

I posted this in the other thread last night:

I would be happy with any of these guys with the 62nd overall pick:

RHP Stetson Allie, OF Austin Wilson, SS Yordy Cabrera, RHP Brett Eibner, OF Jarrett Parker, RHP A.J. Cole, and RHP Brandon Workman. One of them should be available when the Reds pick. I have a feeling the Reds will pick Workman if he's still there.

I would LOVE to add another high upside bat like Yordy Cabrera but I have a feeling he'll get drafted before the Reds pick.
    I miss Adam Dunn.

Re: The Official Second Day Draft Thread - 2010

Paxton would be a fine addition, IMO. LH that can throw mid 90's with control are great to have. He'd be a fairly fast riser, too, as he's in independent ball right now. Because he didn't sign last season and had to go to the independent league, common sense says he shoul sign at slot money.

Not only that, he has a really, really high ceiling.

How do you think he compares to a present day Travis Wood?

Better velocity, better size, better injury history. Doesn't have the plus offspeed pitch that Wood brings though.
