    SPEED - LaMarre has some of the best speed in this draft class and it should be playable at any defensive position. On the basepaths however, he's been caught stealing 15 times in 43 attempts in his college career including being caught 5 times in 12 attempts this season.
    Bah. You can train that. Witness Stubbs' terrible baserunning year in Dayton, then his vast improvement at higher levels.

    That is the only place I have seen something suggesting he is better than a slightly above average runner.

    LaMarre, who still has a year of eligibility remaining at U-M, is known for his speed and outstanding bat, after hitting .419 this season at U-M, despite missing the first third of the seasons with a broken thumb.

    That doesn't tell me he has plus speed, just that he is fast. Jay Bruce is fast. But he isn't a plus plus or even a plus runner.
