The batting average contest between Frazier and Alonso is now on.

Feels like forever ago. This year's farm system has been bleh IMO, except for Chapman. And even he's had some real clunkers in his last few outings.

I don't mind seeing them struggle at all. Let's see if they can struggle and learn to make adjustments.

Louisville, Carolina and Lynchburg all lost again. But on the bright side . . . they all led in the eighth inning!

This is getting sooooo oooold. And there is no relief in sight, so to speak.

Alonso is concerning. Maybe he should go back to AA? I can't see the Reds doing that, but I feel like it could be a good thing.

Frazier is slowly but surely coming around it looks like at least.

At the moment, I'd like to see Cozart make those adjustments. His OBP is 70 points higher than his BA so that's not a problem but he just needs to get a few more hits here and there and the Reds have slick fielding SS with some pop. But hitting around .240 doesn't scream call me up for the full time job in 2011. If he was around .280 he'd be a tremendous asset that could fit in the Reds lineup and contribute. But I guess adding 40 points to their average is what a lot of guys could use.

Yep, retired from baseball. Carolina's PBP man reported it on twitter.

On the flipside, Valaika's picking it up.

He nneds to learn here. He'll struggle and adjust. He's not over his head here.

A demotion would be demoralizing and be very negative to his growth.

I didn't think his promotion back up a month or so ago was warranted. He was only batting in the 260's here when he left.
