He's perfect through 2 innings so far. He could really use a 6+ inning stint.
Reds let him throw 80 pitches his last start. It was the highest his pitch count has been in the last few starts. He wasn't going deep simply because he wasn't being efficient (though he hadn't always been), he was having his innings protected by the Reds.

Does Maloney look as good as his numbers tonight?

That's pretty good command and effectiveness.

I couldn't tell you. No video from Syracuse.

Thanks, doug. I was hoping someone would interject about that. I wasn't aware.

BTW, nice way for him to end the 5th following a leadoff single....K followed by a GODP.

    Boxberger's dealing!

    Finishes the 6th with back-to-back K's.

    Looks like Boxberger's done.

Coach going to the mound after an out, a Double, and a HBP in the 7th.

Of the 5 baserunners allowed by Maloney, 3 have been erased by double plays.

That's what's great about his effort tonight.

He's probably ahead of Chapman with a performance like this (as far as who gets called up first to make a start, if necessary).

Harang pitching well tonight, prolonging (or hurrying perhaps) Aaron's eventual departure.

Boxberger stays in and finishes the inning with a strikeout and Groundout!

    That's really cool to see.

This organization has got some good pitching.

We need to turn someone into a Reliever.

How many years/months before Joseph can go to the bigs?

If you want to use him as a loogy, he may be able to be that guy today. But if you want him to face righties, probably another year.

Donnie Joseph should have gotten a Save for his effort tonight. Came in the 8th with multiple players on base and only 1 out. Got out of it (back-to-back K's) and then pitched the 9th to secure the win for Lynchburg with a game-ending GODP.
