    12-31 is decent for nobody. Reds are 5-8 when Harang starts this year (on the way to 5-9), and 31-20 when anybody else starts.

    Harang has become a loser.

    A pitcher's record is a pretty ineffective way of rating a pitcher.

    But I guess you would be benching that Greinke guy over in KC.

    You are looking at his first 4 starts this year, otherwise his ERA is around 4 for about 40 starts.

    You are more guilty of doing what you claim I have done.
    His ERA right now is 5.45. No cherry picking stats, no picking out the last 9 starts.

    5.45=bad.

    True, but it also shouldn't be looked at as the end-all, be-all either. That first season of struggles, he had one of the worst run supports in all of baseball and his other stats weren't that bad at all. I'm not saying he's great, but he was the recipient of some rather bad luck the past 2 years in addition to his struggles. W/L record is a bad stat to look at for Harang in particular IMO due to his odd support during that stretch.

    Who said it was the end all be all?

    12-31=bad
    5.45=bad

    I'm missing the good here.

    Grienke has an ERA under 4 in the AL. Harang has an ERA of 5.45 in the NL.

    Clearly comparable.

    I don't need stats to tell me what Aaron Harang is. I've seen every start he's made this season on his best days I felt like I was on pins and needles as he navigated through the lineup. Or, the team scored so many runs even he couldn't screw it up. He's not a good pitcher, guys aren't hitting texas leaguers off of him they are hitting line drives, they aren't hitting can of corn they are hitting home runs. Pitiful, I've had my feel of Harang it's time for him to go.
    This is the ol Left Hander rounding third and heading for home.

    Hey it was you who was trumping his record as proving how bad he was.

    I was using record and ERA.

    What else should I use? His ERA+ coming into tonight was 81, you know that's gonna get worse. His WAR is -0.2.

    Harang is so "old Reds." He is part of the Encarnacion, Freel, Junior group that did nothing but lose here. He doesn't know how to win, and players like that have to be shipped out permanently if this team has any hope of turning the corner.

    Seriously? The guy who was 32-17 with 434 k's and a 3.75 era in '06 & '07? And he doesn't know how to win? Okay, whatever.

    2006 Reds/2007 Reds = zero pennant race, zero pressure

    No, he doesn't know how to win.
