We need a serious road rally tonight

To get things together. That much is certain. We completely blew the homestand with a losing record and now need to make up for it on the road against winnable opponents. Seattle is 16 games under .500, Oakland is 2 games under .500, we need a big couple of series, and there isn't any excuse why we can't get it.

Somehow we've lost our last FIVE series openers, for whatever reason. We haven't won a series opener since the end of May against Houston. That is just pathetic. Time to grow a pair boys and show up tonight for a change. We can't rely on other teams losing in our division to make us feel better about playing like crap.

I'm on board. Only way you can sweep is if you win the first game.

i have a good feeling about tonight's game for some reason. I think Cueto will do well against this crap lineup and we will win a low scoring game. We have hit Cliff Lee a little bit in the past

Cairo DH-ing changes my prediction. Along with the gimpy, rangeless Cabrera at SS, and the defenseless Gomes in LF, while Stubb's Defense and Janish' Defense rot on the bench.

    REDS.............1
    Mariners.........5

That's the worst possible lineup Duhsty could have made. There's no worse lineup possible.

Dusty got close,I like the Heisey move, hate the Cairo move. Why can't Gomes DH and Heisey play left with Stubbs in CF. Seattle has a large outfield, Heisey and Stubbs would get to about everything out there. And Gomes bat would still be in the lineup.

Either way I am pumped for the game. And we are going to get at Lee I have a feeling, starting with a base knock up the middle by OCab. Then again with Lee being a good and crafty veteran he would probably just go to work and K Stubbs multiple times, but I still want his D out there.

    Cairo - 3b
    OCab - SS
    Votto - 1B
    Phillips - 2B
    Rolen - 3B
    Bruce - RF
    Nix - LF
    Stubbs - CF
    Corky - DH

    Is much worse.

giving Stubbs a day off is a great idea imo.. The last thing he needs is his confidence shaken up worse from an ace.
