Milb.com is notorious for making a switch to a players profile. Since he was a RHH when drafted, even if he starts hitting solely LH, it probably wouldn't be changed for 2-3 years. Juan Francisco was in AA and still listed as a switch hitter and 180 pounds before it was changed. He never did either of those things in the US. They just never made the change.

And as for Hamilton, he is considered an above average to plus shortstop. Its more about whether his bat develops because defensively, the kid has some serious tools.

I actually laughed out loud watching that catch--for the second time.

As amazing as that is to watch . . . Note the angle of the ball off the bat. When you see the ball headed in that direction, you know that nobody's gonna catch it. I'd be curious to see where Hamilton was playing that guy. It's possible that he was shaded over toward third base . . . but it's a left-handed hitter! That's simply not a ball that gets caught by a normal shortstop playing in a normal place. Not even close.

Based on TOOLS not on field performance, Hamilton has to be the Elite prospect of the SS group that is currently in the Minors.

    Cozart
    DiDi
    Torreyes
    Arias
    Lohman
    Negron

Between Y-Rod and Hamilton, JimBo would be giddy.

Okay, that catch is one of the most amazing things I've seen all season. WOW.

    Kid is a freak.
