Sometimes I really wonder why managers fill out the lineups that they do. In Lynchburg today, Cody Puckett and his .522 SLG is in the leadoff spot, while Jose Gualdron and his sub .400 SLG is batting 3rd.
I always figure it along the lines of the fact that it isn't necessarily a minor league manager's job to win games.

So Mes goes into play tonite with an .804 OPS so far at AA? Good news. If he can keep it above .800 the rest of the season, at that level, that really will be a great development. He remains the nicest surprise of the minor leagues for me this season.
Yeah, though I would like to see him get to .800 in a more conventional way. Of course his time in AA is extremely limited, so I am not placing much on what he has done so far. Unfortunately, he isn't in the line up tonight.Originally Posted by membengal
