I won't be able to participate tonight, as I'll be at the game, and don't have a smartPhone. But that doesn't mean I can't start the game thread.

I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou

Swap Stubbs and Cabrera and you'd have a nice tweak to it. We shall see if it gets the offense going again.

Apparently Cabrera is still nursing his twisted ankle. I'm just not understanding Dusty repeatedly running him out there on a gimpy leg. It's the reason you've got Janish on the club, isn't it? Give Orlando a week off or so and let him heal up properly. Sheesh!

    Seen the x-rays?

    Talk to the doctor?

Have you read OC's pain diary?

    How severe is his injury?

    Anyone?

I've just heard that it's twisted.. about a week ago, not much since.

I haven't heard anything about it....and I'd give him a week off to let it heal.

No, of course I haven't. But even if it's NOT bothering him...he's so obviously struggling, he's an older ball player, why not give him a few days off regardless to get some rest, heal what needs healing, and get his head screwed on straight. Sending him out there everyday to "work it out" obviously isn't working and it's hurting the club. Even Dusty's quote today said something along the lines of "he says its not bothering him, but you can see it is when he's hitting". When Bruce struggles, they sit him down to think about what he's doing wrong...why not Orlando? Plus you get the added benefit of giving Janish some much needed playing time.

I'd say this is the "exact" quote from Dusty today, but it's from Fay, so who knows how badly he mangled it. :O)

“He says it’s not affecting him much on the field,” Baker said. “He refuses to say his ankle is affecting him at the plate. I can see it on some swings.”

Just curious, anybody see the meltdown Zambrano had today? This guy has got some serious loose bolts up there. What in the world do the Cubs do with this whack-job? I certainly can't see them eating that contract, that's for sure.

Don't know, but it is not aesthetically pleasing.

I noticed this in Seattle. Harang's stride is shorter than it has ever been....and he's continually high in the zone....or very very low.
