    Zambrano suspended indefinitely....

    http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/ml...ory?id=5328972

CHICAGO -- Chicago Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano has been suspended indefinitely after a dugout tirade Friday, according to Cubs general manager Jim Hendry.
Zambrano had to be separated from teammate Derrek Lee in the visitor's dugout after surrendering four runs to the Chicago White Sox in the bottom of the first inning at U.S. Cellular Field.
How can you not love this as a Reds fan.

I'd rather it be Chris Carpenter, but this is brilliant nonetheless.

A good 'ole Cubs meltdown always makes for great entertainment.

You gotta believe after all of this, that this will be Zambrano's last year as a Cub.
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!

It's really sad that he chose such a pathetic franchise to spend his last gig with.

As bad as Tampa was during his tenure with cheap owners, Chicago maybe the one place thats more screwed up.

We've known for years that Zambrano was like pitching with a bomb strapped to your chest it just happened to go off today. Still when he's was on there wasnt many better pitchers in the NL.

Prediction: If Jim Joyce had made that call in the 9th inning of a Zambrano perfect game, Zambrano would be incarcerated right now.

The way things go these days, Zambrano will get an extension and Lou will be fired.

Though it couldn't happen to a better bunch of guys!

    Zambrano's contract:

    08:$15M, 09:$17.75M, 10:$17.875M, 11:$17.875M, 12:$18M, 13:$19.25M vesting player option
    full no-trade clause

I don't think anyone will take on that contract. Will the Cubs eat that much money?

    Re: Zambrano suspended indefinitely....

I only heard about his meltdown after the fact today and it sounds absolutely insane. What in the world was he thinking?! I actually feel bad for Derrick Lee because I'm sure he was like WTH?! when Big Z went off on him. If the Cubs really do jettison him and that huge contract, I can't imagine he'll even be playing professional baseball with any other team. He's too much of a ticking time bomb for any team to be willing to take a chance on him. I'd honestly be scared just to see him walking down the street after seeing more than a few of these meltdowns. BTW-I can't wait to talk to one of my friends tomorrow. She's a Cub fan (got it from her dad who passed away not too long ago) and you can imagine how fed up she is with her team all ready. She's going to be livid over Big Z's latest nonsense. She gets a pass from me though because one, she's one of my best friends, two, she's also a Reds fan except when they play the Cubs , and three, she takes it in stride that I can't stand her team.

Wow, it's sure been a heck of a week in the sports world! Was anything normal?!?
