Yep.

Looking it up at baseball-reference, Bailey batted leadoff for 132 games that season. I guess they thought his 22 yr. old legs were fresh, but his 10 SB-14 CS rate didn't indicate that.

Evidently, the Pirates saw the same thing and traded for Matty Alou in the off-season of 1965 who led off most of 1966. They traded for Maury Wills who was lead-off for '67-'68, and then Alou was back there for '69-'70.
