Lynchburg hangs on 9-8. It's sure handy to have Donnie Joseph stabilizing things at the end of a game like that. He went 1.2 innings.

Honestly, how long do you guys think it will be before Dusty is in Walt's office advocating that Heisey really needs to go to AAA to get at bats everyday? Saying the Reds could use a veteran outfielder in his role.
Think about this, right now I absolutly believe the Reds are one outfielder injury away from GMJ getting significant playing time.
See, this is the problem with signing guys like GMJ. Once he gets promoted, and if he hits at AAA (which a MLB veteran can even though he can no longer hit MLB pitching) he will, then Dusty will not use him as a 5 outfielder. I have every belief that if Walt promotes him Dusty will give him significant playing time in the leadoff role.

GMJ has had one good year in his career when he had an OBP of 371..other than that he is absolute trash.
He has NEVER and I repeat NEVER had over 80 rbi in his career and people talk about him like he's an all star.
Dayton's offensive box is worth a look:

Billings up 5-3 in the 6th
Lutz is 3 for 3 with a double
Billy has a double and Yorman a single.
I understand your concerns.
The thing to be worried about, is that Matthews might do well in AAA, get called up, look decent against bad teams in August - September, and then end up being the starting CF next year and do lousy, while they will wait half a season or more with him leading off and in CF while we as fans have to suffer through it.
Not my place or for me to say anything, but, you might want to be careful with labeling anyone or player “trash” on this board, admins. Often don’t appreciate that.
Ismael Guillon has thrown four scoreless innings of relief for the ASL Reds, who trail 3-2. Kyle Lotzkar didn't have a particularly good start--except that, at this point, you might say that every start for Lotzkar is a good one.
With a single and double so far tonight, Dominic D'Anna is batting .583. He's a left-handed-hitting first baseman who was drafted in the 31st round out of Cal State-Northridge.

LaMarre is off to a nice start in Dayton! It's obviously a small sample size, but glad he's off to a good start.
