    Slashes for month of June...

    105 AB's Phillips ~ .411 / .505 / .916 - May OPS .913 (+.003)
    104 AB's Cabrera ~ .239 / .298 / .537 - May OPS .696 (-.159)
    98 AB's Votto ~ .427 / .592/ 1.019 - May OPS 1.012 (+.007)
    85 AB's Rolen ~ .408 / .647 / 1.055 - May OPS .926 (+.129)
    86 AB's Gomes ~ .296 / .384 / .680 - May OPS 1.056 (-.376)
    97 AB's Bruce ~ .333 / .454 / .787 - May OPS .827 (-.040)
    83'AB's Stubbs ~ .290 / .325 / .615 - May OPS .864 (-.249)
    63 AB's Hernandez ~ .299 / .333 / .632 - May OPS .912 (-.280)

    27 AB's Miller ~ .241 / .222 / .463 - May OPS .824 (Hanigan) (-.361)
    12 AB's Janish ~ .214 / .083 / .297 - May OPS .568 (-.271)
    34 AB's Nix ~ .235 / .235 / .470 - May OPS .852 (-.382)
    29 AB's Cairo ~ .290 / .276 / .566 - May OPS 1.007 (-.441)
    25 AB's Heisey ~ .387 / .440 / .827 - May OPS 1.059 (-.232)

In the month of May you had 7 starters who OPS'd over .800, 4 of which OPS'd over .900 and 2 of which OPS'd over 1.000. You had 1 starter OPS under .700. (Cabrera)

The Bench had 4 players who OPS'd over .800 and 2 over 1.000. Youhad one bench player who OPS'd under .600 (Janish) but only had 15 AB's all month.

In June, 2 Starters are OPSing over 1.000 (Votto, Rolen), 1 over .900 (Phillips), 1 over .750 (Bruce), 3 in the .600's (Gomes, Hernandez,Stubbs) and one under .550 (Cabrera).

The Bench has 1 player above .800 (Heisey), 1 player above .550 (Cairo), 1 below .500 (Nix) and Janish is at .297 in 12 AB's. He was given 11 straight days off to make sure he was well rested to start the month. His 12 AB's this month have come against Zito, Grienke, Kuroda (Substitution) and Gio Gonzalez. Not one has an ERA over 4.00 and if I remember correctly all 3 shut the Reds down for the most part, Less Bruce vs Zito.

I would bet a shiny nickel he starts today vs Halliday. It's like Dusty wants to make sure he struggles.

Team is in a offensive funk outside of Votto, Rolen and somewhat Bruce.

Something needs to be done at the SS position. Cabrera has looked terrible in all facets of the game in the last 2 weeks. Bouncing throws to 1B, dropping 2 throws in the last 2 games, poor base running all season in general.

Janish needs to get 7 to 10 starts in a row to see if this is something that can be fixed in house. If not, ask for Drew when you goto the DBack's to ask about Haren.

This is starting to reek of a Taveras, Patterson, Gonzalez situation, where the player getting the most AB's has the lowest OBP hence making the most outs and keeping said player at the top of the lineup...

Keep in mind Dusty has given Rolen 2 more Days off than Cabrera this month even though they are the same age and Cabrera is supposedly hurt...

If you can't be a good example... then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...

Thanks for verifying for me that Gomes had cooled off. I was meaning to look that up as it appeared he hadn't had as many big hits of late. Those are some ugly slashes for the most part. And in honor of ugly Slashes everywhere...

I would throw Phillips on the good list as well.
