    Harang For Relief?

Are there any free agents to be on other contenders that the Reds could swap Harang for if travis Wood is ready?

You aren't going to find any takers. Besides he still is useful as a #4 or 5 guy. No need to take him out of the rotation.

    Agreed.
We need someone to eat innings, no matter how scaring they may be, He will eat innings.

There are 2 important things regarding Aaron...

    1. He eats innings
    2. He will give up a few dingers, but he also keeps us in games.

Its up to the offense to get their head out of their asses and step up for guys like Harang and Arroyo.

Another thing to keep in mind as far as Harang is concerned going forward is that the Reds have quite a few more road games than home games on the schedule. His road ERA is higher this year but that's despite his HR and BB rates being much lower away from GABP. I feel confident that the more starts Aaron gets away from GABP, the better his stats will look by the end of the year.

    Re: Harang For Relief?

Harang isn't eating as many innings as he has in the past. I have been an advocate of moving Harang to the pen when Volquez gets back, as long as it does not add innings on Leake. If Wood is successful, he will be ready to take the innings load that Harang used to provide. I think this will save Leake and hopefully improve our starting pitching.

That said, if Harang doesen't make one bad pitch to the Reds' 2000 2nd round pick yesterday, we may be discussing 'The Return of Aaron Harang.' But the fact is that he throws way too many mistake pitches like that, and they are very costly, especially at GABP.
