Alonso plates Matthew (double) with a single in game 2. Bats up 1-0.

Crazy stuff in Lynchburg. From Chris Lang on Twitter

Hillcats A fan just threw a pitcher of beer at Winston-Salem's Seth Loman. Then the idiot tried to challenge Loman to a fight

    More from Chris Lang:
Christiani brushed him inside all three times to go to 3-0. Sure looked like an intentional plunk to me.

Nothing like the "closeness" of Minor League Baseball.

Anyone else having problems with MILB and the scores? Some reason it is not really giving me updated information.

Also anyone know is Yorman playing tonight for Billings?

The 17-year-old lefty, Luis Gonzalez, had another strong start for the VSL Reds: 6 IP, 3H, 1 R, 1 BB, 8 K. They held on in 10, 4-3.

Right now I'm feeling pretty good about pushing the Henry Hype Wagon before the season started...

Re: Monday, July 5, 2010, Minor League Updates

Here's an interesting case. Cesar Caceres started and pitched six scoreless innings today for the DSL Reds, running his record to 3-1 in a 3-1 victory. His line: 6 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K. He now has a 1.33 ERA. His line for the season: 27 IP, 18 H, 4 ER, 8 BB, 25 K. Since Caceres will be 22 years old next month, you'd think he might be in Billings by now.

However, check out his line last year for the DSL Reds: 26 IP, 30 H, 19 ER, 27 BB, 28 K, 6.58 ERA. That's just over a walk an inning.

For some guys, a year can make a profound difference.

Mesoraco walked again, he's now 1-for-3 with two walks tonight.
    I miss Adam Dunn.
