I think I heard he already declined?
"He looked like a surfer kid from SoCal," manager Dusty Baker says. "He didn't say much, but you could tell he was cool."

No, I would love to see him in the derby too. Do you think Votto will enter it? Hope he doesn't mess up his swing if he does.

I'd doubt Votto would want the attention of being in the Home Run Derby.

So far only 2 NL All Star players have agreed to do the Derby. So they might ask Dunn.

If they wanted the Home Run derby to be more fun they would expand it to non all stars. I'm sure they could get guys to go for it.

I really would not have a problem of Votto participating in the Home Run Derby. I don't think it would mess with his swing, like people always worry about with derby participants. Before the game on Monday during batting practice he told a coach was going to put a ball on top of the apple in centerfield, which he promptly did. He can place the ball wherever he wants, and I don't think hitting a few balls over the wall would screw with his swing the rest of the season. Personally, I'd love to see him participate.

I also thought what if they mixed in the minor leaguers some how. Career minor league guys blasting balls out, prospects? Could add a decent thing to it.

They should send out invites to big home-run hitters, not just All-Stars.

I'd love to see Dunn in one. Is Wily Mo Pena still in the major leagues? Hell, even if he isn't have him come up for it.

Leading the league in homers doesnt mean you couldnt lead a contest in which BP fastballs were thrown to you.
